Водоизмещение Harmony of the seas составляет 227,5 тыс. тонн, его ширина — 66 метров, длина — 362 метра. На его борту смогут разместиться 6,4 тыс. пассажиров и более 2 тыс. членов экипажа. Строительство корабля заняло 2,5 года и обошлось судовладельцу в почти в €1 млрд. Судно достигло порт Саутгемптон на южном побережье Великобритании, где возьмёт на борт первых пассажиров. Французские архитекторы спроектировали корабль-тюрьму, в которой заключенных предлагается содержать в камерах, размещенных над палубой. Об этом пишет Daily Mail. «Камеры будут сделаны из бумаги и станут гигантскими парусами корабля», — пишет газета, ссылаясь на создателей проекта. Судно будет находиться в международных водах возле Панамского перешейка в Южной Америке. По задумке авторов, в плавучей тюрьме будут отбывать наказание люди, уклонявшиеся от уплаты налогов при помощи офшоров в Панаме. Проект получил название «Панамские бумаги». Площадь каждой камеры составит девять квадратных метров. У каждой будет только три стены, четвертую сторону расположенных на значительной высоте камер предлагается ничем не огораживать. Архитекторы отметили, что корабль сможет существовать автономно от внешнего мира: на палубе будет возможность выращивать овощи, а в трюмах установят станции очистки воды.
